Mixing
Both stereo and surround sound mixing (5.1 up to 7.1.4) facilities are available. Our systems are compatible with the latest image and audio formats and updated on a regular basis. All the studios are acoustically optimized. The complete sound, image and network integration, combined with the use of fast data connections, enables working simultaneously on one and the same project. This makes working against tight deadlines a breeze. Our sound mixes meet all technical requirements, regardless which broadcast medium is used.
Sound improvement
Thanks to the use of "dedicated software", poor recordings can be significantly improved. Regardless of whether it concerns annoying environmental factors, technical failures or archive material. Because of the variety of audio problems/solutions, feel free to send us a short fragment (max. 30 sec.) of your "problem" recording. We will gladly send you an improved version, and this at no charge.
Sounddesign/ADR
Breathe new live into archive material or create an original sound setting. With our extensive collection of sound effects and Plug-ins your story is about to get an extra dimension. When finishing films, you can use our own sound library, our foley facilities, or enlist a professional sound actor. We are happy to help you with musical advice and selections. For music compositions we recommend to work with the composer of your choice.
Equipment
All studios are fully equipped. One studio is equipped with a seperate Voice Booth, another one is a completely acoustically damped and optimized space. It contains both the technician , voice director, and various voice actors.The Dynamic Drive Pool servers ensure smooth image and audio reproduction in all studios. Sound recording is done, using Universal Audio Tube Preamps that can be combined with Neumann, Josephson or DPA microphones..
Workflow
Each project requires a specific approach. After thorough consultation with our regular staff, a technical plan and a postproduction plan is drawn up. Within the predetermined budgetary contours, one of our technicians takes care of the personal follow-up. This not only ensures smooth and clear communication, but also ensures continuity in the mixing style of your project.
Call-in service
Studio MM provides a call-in service. By using a safe link the director can follow the sound recording (video included) on-line, and give guidelines using videochat. All this happens at the same time, and can take place from all over the world. Only a broadband internet connection and a Firefox or Google Chrome browser is needed. It goes without saying that video conferences are possible using Zoom, Skype, Teams,...
Delivery specifications
The final image cut is delivered filebased MXF (MPEG-2, ProRes 422 Proxy/HD, DnxHD, 16:9, 25FPS or other, Resolutions up to Full HD/4K). The audio material is delivered as an AAF file (48Khz, 24bits, embedded or not). For digital delivery, send your material to "techniek@studiomm.be". This by using on-line media upload services like wetransfer, MyAirbridge... At the end, the final mix is sent to you as a sound file (format of your choice). Backing up audio projects, the booking of professional voice-overs, the delivery of international sound versions, on-line visions... happens on request.
